Little jumpy there Bunkman? Feeling okay? Because the offices of Requin & White don't like it when their employees are highly-strung. Or didn't you read your contract? Tension heats up this week after Lance finally let Nicki and Vicki in on his world. Facing down cultists, conspiracies and supernatural threats is always easier when you've got some back-up. And we don't mean another cup of Java. Cause seriously-- you're making us twitchy here!

It's only day one at the new job and already things are looking weird. That's okay. Lance has learned over the years that you can't just punch-in, punch-out when evil's on the clock. Even the Hardest Working Man in Comics has to blow off some steam, or at least chill-ax a little in the comfort of his own home. This page we give you a peek inside the basement rec-room where he makes that happen. But don't let that grin fool you. Things aren't suddenly turning up Bunkman. No way. The tension mounts at the law offices of Requin & White as Lance can't seem to get through a day without stumbling over something strange. Don't worry, it was probably nothing. And hey, Lance, eyes on the prize here, can't you see the signals right in front of you? Nothing like a little inter-office romance to shake them Freelance Blues!

Back On The Grind

Well it's a New Year and for most of us it means getting back to the J-O-B. There's no more staying up all night watching The Wire, no more crashing holiday parties, no more sleeping in till the crack of noon. Coming back to the office after a break might be the worst feeling there is. Not only do you not want to be there, but you've forgotten what you do there anyway.

Yep, it's a New Year, and that means it's all business, and for Lance it's no different. Our story picks up with Lance at his new job, typing transcripts for a big city law firm. Who knew you could break a sweat at a keyboard? At least this job is nice and safe with absolutely no potential for greivous bodily harm. Promise.

All Is Quiet...

As we get ready to punch the clock for the last time in 2008, it's hard not to reflect on the year we've had. This time last year we had an 8-page mini-comic and a dream. Now we've got ourselves a fancy website, a mini-series that is in full production, some kickin' new FLB merch (coming soon to a convention near you,) and something that has been in pretty small supply in our offices lately: hope. We've got some big plans for this little book, and the future's looking bright indeed.

So from all of us here at Freelance Blues, to all of you and yours: We hope you have a happy`n healthy 2009.
