Time to Knuckle Down

Four weeks on the job.

We're past that initial nervous stage, when we try to figure out how we fit in. We're starting to familiarize ourselves with the workplace… kinda like Lance and Leon in this week's update.

See how the boys are getting along with their co-workers here.

In our continuing efforts to assist you with pulling one over on your evil overlords, we're reintroducing the RSS this week. You'll be less likely to get busted if all you've gotta do to check for updates is look in one little bookmark folder.

Now get back to slack… um… work.

Uh-Oh. Ever get caught like this?

You know that can't be good.

But we're not ones to sleep on the job here at FLB:

We've been updating the site to bring you maximum comic efficiency!

Why not check out our newest page of our story here?

For those just joining us, this is page three of the first chapter of Freelance Blues:

Goin' Back to Kali, in which so far, Lance has just narrowly escaped one monster job interview. For everyone else who's been sneaking a peak at our site on the company dime, sleeping on the job, gold-bricking, or making puppies: this one is for you.

It's Been One Week

Since Freelance Blues opened and we're still on the job.

We had a lot of great feedback so thanks to everyone who has taken the time to share some thoughts on their testdrive. Web-comics are a work in progress, so we appreciate you being here with us while we get things in order.

Last week we introduced you to the full-timers here a FLB, but our staff also includes a couple of hard working part-timers: Stephen Sayer, who provided for the fantastic logos and favicon (that wicked icon up on your navigation bar), and Neal Anderson for the bitchin' banners. Thanks dudes!

In the meantime, we've got another page of Lance action for you, and oh it's not looking like a good start for our boy. But then, ain't that just how job interviews go?

First Day On The Job

WELCOME TO FREELANCE BLUES!

It's been two years in the making. You're about to embark on the greatest adventure of your working days. We've been asking everyone if they feel like their jobs were sucking the life out of them. Well imagine knowing you were right!

This is Lance's life. It's no secret that work is Hell. And finally somebody's doing something about it.

Freelance Blues began as a mini-comic that just didn't stop ticking. You can check out the first 8 pages that started it all here. But this is where things really take off.

The story of Lance Bunkman and his struggle against the monsters of the everyday are only just getting started. We hope you'll be here to follow it every week, as another page will be revealed each Thursday.

If you're just coming here from Zuda after my appearance with the comic Shock Effect, then welcome and I hope you enjoy it. You'll find it quite a bit different, but I think that's what you'll come to enjoy. Big thanks again to Shock Effect's co-creator, John Lang, for such incredible artwork, and to everyone who took us as far as they did.

But in the meantime, on behalf of everybody here at Freelance Blues, my co-writer Mike Leone, the viciously talented Vicki Tierney, and our incredible webmaster machine Rob Petek, welcome to the job.
